Happy Halloween! (11/04/09 2:15 EST)
I just wanted to wish everyone a belated Happy Halloween and early Happy Thanksgiving! I've added color codes and info for the new Pumpkin Dragon, so anyone who was lucky enough to snag one of those little beauties can make use of the info do to so. :)
If anyone can tell me whether or not these new Dragons are breedable in the spoilers forum, and with what I'd be much obliged.
Happy Breeding!

Site Updates (09/25/09 11:15 EST)
It's been a while since my last update so I wanted to apologize for not being as active as I once was with the site updates. I do keep an eye on the forums and on my PM inbox, even when I'm not actively able to update the site, so I encourage anyone needing advice, having ideas, or new news to post to the forums or PM me and I'll update the site as quickly as I can in response.
On a brighter note I've updated the site to have information regarding the five new breeds that were released a month ago, so there are now color codes for the Deep Sea, Dragon Horse, Neotropical, Waterhorse, and Water Walker! Any feedback on them is certainly appreciated, but I think that they should work out well and don't seem to clash with any of the other color codes.
Also, I've reorganized the color code sheet, so it should be easier to navigate and find the color code you need, as they are in alphabetical order rather than in order of color. The striped and dorsal are filed under S and D respectively, so if you are looking for those multi-colored Dragons that's where you can find them.
Tags have also been updated for the new breeds, and the breed index and dragon breed tags have been reorganized to match the new organization of the color code chart. This should make it easier to navigate.
I hope these updates make the site more enjoyable for everyone to use. If anyone has any questions, please don't hesitate to drop me a line!
Happy Breeding!

Updates (07/23/09 10:05 EST)
First of all, let me offer my apologizes for being primarily absent. Real life has been busy, so I haven't been able to make updates to the site as I would like.
On a brighter note, I was able to update the color codes with the five new breeds of Dragons that TJ released recently. I wish everyone the best of luck in collecting these new Dragons and look forward to seeing Dragon pages for our new friends.
If anyone has any feedback on the colors, please feel free to let me know via PM or the forum.
Happy Breeding!

Leave of Absence (05/13/09 17:43 EST)
I'm sorry to do this on such short notice, but some real life things have come up that are forcing me to take a step back from the site and my online games so I'm going to be gone for probably a few days at least, maybe a week or so. If someone needs me please drop me a PM or an email and I'll respond as I am able.
On a side note I have taken down the breed guide pending additional investigation into some various circumstances. I won't go into those here, but for the moment I've taken it out of the FAQ until I have hard, exact evidence as to why it is not breaking any rules, just to be on the safe side, but real life not permitting me to do that immediately I've taken it down, just in case.
I hope everyone enjoys the site. Once I am able to spend time on it again I'll bring in some new improvements and make it even more comprehensive for everyone.
Have a great one!

Breed Guide (05/06/09 08:00 EST)
One thing that this site attempts to do is help breeders breed their Dragons responsibly. No one likes to see the abandoned page full because of thousands of breeders breeding their Dragons randomly in the attempt to get certain Dragons.
To help breeders do this I have created a guide in the FAQ that provides information regarding the various Dragon breeds. This information is free to anyone who wishes to read it, but I will warn the casual reader that it is chock full of spoilers, so if you wish to figure such things out yourself you are better off avoiding the guide entirely.
If anyone wishes to discuss the contents of the guide, I ask that they either be discussed in the Dragon Breeding forum or on our Chat. I also ask that everyone please refrain from discussing anything you find out in the guide anywhere else, as many other fan sites have rules against discussing "spoilers". Discussing the contents of the guide is also forbidden on the Dragon Cave forum. Consider yourself warned so that you don't get banned.
That said I hope that the guide proves useful to those that do wish to read it and if anyone has information that they can lend toward the guide please do not hesitate to message me so that I can update it.
Happy Breeding!

Regarding The New Templates (05/01/09 20:41 EST)
A couple of days ago Masks, the owner of the previous Wiki by this name, came to me on IRC and made several requests of the site, as they felt that there was copyrighted material being used. Namely their page templates.
While I do not believe it is possible to copyright wiki code in this manner, I am asking everyone to please use the new Dragon_Alt template as they create their Dragon pages and also that existing pages be changed to fit this new format.
I originally was going through and making this changes myself to try and assist people in doing this chore, but as it seems to have stepped on a few toes I will stop and provide the necessary code for everyone to adjust their pages themselves below.
If you are already using a unique template of your own design then you have nothing that needs changing. If you are using the first template that was available on the site, especially if the pages were created when the site first opened, then chances are they are using the old template and need to be updated to the new one.
The new template has some improved features, such as displaying the Dragon's breed, how many generations down it is, a link to their Dragon Cave page, and their Mate, if they have one. I encourage everyone to use this format or some personal variation of it on any current and future pages created.
A list of color codes for all the breeds can be found in the FAQ section if you wish to make your Dragon's breed name more colorful and a link to the code for the new Dragon page template is below:
My thanks for everyone's assistance in this regard in making our fresh start as smooth as possible!

Breeder/Dragon Index & Tagging (05/01/09 01:20 EST)
After much hunting through various Wiki modules and code I have found a way to display breeders and dragons under their respective letter, breed and gender without having to manually input the links every time. However, do this I need everyone's help.
The method by which this is accomplished is TAGS. At the bottom of every page in the Wiki is a link that says Tags. When you click the link it opens a little box that you can put tags into. There is a list of tags under the FAQ, but here is what I need every page to have at minimum:
Breeders Pages
Breeder pages must be tagged with the following tags:
- breeder
- letter-<letter> (first letter of your scroll username)
Dragon Pages
Dragon pages must have the following tags:
- Type (dragon | dino | chicken)
- Dragon Breed (EG: alt-black)
- Gender (male | female | neuter)
- letter-<letter> (first letter of the Dragon's name)
- Stage (adult | hatchling | frozen | egg)
- Bred or Caveborn
Any other tags such as naming scheme, lineage, or so on are optional, but these tags are what allow me to sort pages under a given letter, breed, gender, or stage in the indexes and without them the Dragon or Breeder will only show up until the All listing and not anywhere else in the index.
My thanks for everyone's cooperation in this regard. I will do my best to help everyone get their pages properly tagged and sorted initially, but after the first batch it will be the responsibility of the owner to make sure they remain properly tagged.
If anyone has any questions please feel free to contact me on IRC or any other method listed on my breeder page.

More Updates (04/30/09 04:00 EST)
As many of you may have noticed, I've been fairly busy working on getting this site up and running and letting the membership get their breeder and Dragon pages up and running as well.
The FAQ is done. It should answer all the questions regarding how to use the site, code snippets for pages, tags to use on wiki pages, chat usage, color codes for Dragon breeds, and buttons for linking to breeder pages, or the site in general.
The forums are also set up, so I encourage everyone to use them, as is the chat. I really look forward to seeing more of our membership joining us online so we can get together, share breeding tales, and bits of useful code to make our lives easier and more productive.
More details as the site develops further. Happy breeding!

Update (04/29/09 22:00 EST)
After some consultation with some members on IRC I have decided to allow people subpages under the following rule:
- All subpages must be <username>:<subpage>. This is make it easier to track who owns what page.
An example of this would be alia-guyat:breeding-pairs. This shows who the page belongs to and lets people have pages with the same name but each belonging to that user in an obvious way.
My thanks in advance for everyone's cooperation on this. If anyone has any questions regarding this policy please join us on IRC!

Important Request (04/29/09 19:15 EST)
I did not realize that this was a fact was not made clear, but I must request that everyone keep their breeder information, such as their pairs, sorts by gender, and so on on their BREEDER PAGE.
When pages are made under things like tree: and dragon: and do not fit the particular category they are being placed in it makes the wiki confusing and hard to navigate. There are many ways to keep your breeder page neat with tables, tabbed browsing, and collapsible code blocks.
Mine is a good example of all the sorts of data I've seen people creating separate pages for on a single breeder page: Alia Guyat.
If anyone needs help recoding their page to where all their information is neatly stored on that single page, please drop by our IRC channel and ask for help. Any of us there would be more than glad to assist in getting everyone up and running.
Many thanks for your cooperation!

New Site (04/29/09 12:45 EST)
There is still a lot of work to be done on the new site, such as the FAQ, but the Breeder and Dragon templates are done, so once you join you may begin creating your Breeder page — or copying it from the old site — and doing likewise with your Dragons.
One minor but important change that all Dragons will be under dragon: now instead of tree:. Please be sure to replace all tree: with dragon: in your wiki pages as you transition over to ensure that we stay organized. I have plans for tree: later.
If anyone has any questions or needs any help please drop by our IRC channel by clicking the Chat link above. I should be around and able to answer questions most of the time, so please join us!
